Overall meaning : Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, says: The true servants of the All-Compassionate are those who do not worship other gods besides Him, do not kill any person whose life He has forbidden to be taken except in the course of justice and through due process of law, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. Whoever does these will face severe punishment. Their punishment will be multiplied on the Day of Judgement, and they will be humiliated in it for ever, except for those who sincerely repent of such major sins, believe and do righteous deeds, for then Allah will change their evil deeds into good deeds, all by His grace and generosity. Allah in His unbounded forgiveness and mercy always pardons and shows mercy to those who sincerely repent and turn to Him. Those who repent of sins and persevere in doing righteous deeds to make up for those they have missed have truly turned to Allah, and their repentance will surely be accepted.
