Overall meaning : The Almighty says: We never sent any messenger before you, Muhammad, who did not eat food and walk in the markets, like all human beings; therefore, you are no exception. We test you, people, by means of one another. Will you, then, have patience? Surely your Lord, Muhammad, sees and is aware of those who bear His trials, and He will surely repay them according to their deeds.
The unbelievers who deny the resurrection, do not expect to meet Us and do not fear My punishment say, ‘Why have no angels been sent to us to inform us of your truthfulness, Muhammad? Why can we not see our Lord with our own eyes, so that we may believe you?’ They have thus become too proud of themselves and have transgressed all limits in their rebellion and arrogance. On the day these unbelievers see the angels of punishment, there will no good news for them that day, but only misery, anguish and punishment. The angels will say to them, ‘You are forbidden from receiving good news today.’ Then We will turn to whatever good deeds they did in the life of the world and make them devoid of reward, rendering them as vain as scattered, insignificant specks of dust. As for the dwellers of Paradise, they will on that day have the best residence in Paradise and the finest place of noonday rest!
