Overall meaning : Almighty Allah depicts the distinguishing qualities of His true, faithful servants, saying: The true servants of the All-Compassionate are those who walk upon the earth humbly and in a dignified manner, and when the foolish address them with bad words, they do not repay insult with insult; rather, they speak good words to them. They are those who spend part of the night praying to their Lord, prostrating themselves and standing; and those who, out of fear of their Lord’s punishment, say, ‘Lord, keep the torment of Hell away from us; its torment is dreadful and everlasting for those who die unbelievers. It is an evil abode and resting-place for those who will dwell in it.’
They are those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but maintain a just balance between these extremes.
