Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: When the caravan with which Jacob’s sons were travelling set out from Egypt for the Levant, Jacob said to the people around him, 'You will not believe me and you will think I am a senile dotard, but I do indeed sense the smell of Joseph.’ 'By Allah,’ they said, 'you are surely under the same old illusion of yours.’ When Jacob’s sons approached their father’s home, one of them—who had Joseph’s shirt and was the bearer of the good news that Joseph was still alive—raced to Jacob and laid Joseph’s shirt over their father’s face, and Jacob regained his sight. Jacob then said to his children, 'Did I not tell you that I truly know something of Allah’s mercy and relief that you do not know?’ 'Our father,’ they begged, 'ask Allah to forgive us our sins. We admit that we have done wrong.’ Their father said, 'I will implore my Lord to forgive you. He it is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful.’
