Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: Mention to your people, Muhammad, the statement of Joseph to his father Jacob, peace be upon them both: 'Father, I saw in a dream eleven stars, as well as the sun and the moon. I saw them prostrating themselves before me.’ 'My son,’ he replied, 'say nothing of this dream to your brothers, lest they become jealous of you and plot to harm you, for Satan is man’s open foe and can incite people to do such an evil thing. Just as your Lord has shown you this dream, so, too, He will bestow prophethood on you and teach you the interpretation of people’s dreams and make you understand the meaning of Allah’s scriptures and His prophets’ ways. He will also perfect His favour to you with prophethood and to the family of Jacob, as He perfected it with prophethood to your forefathers Abraham and Isaac before you. Your Lord knows perfectly well who of His servants deserves to be chosen for prophethood, and is All-Wise in disposing of the affairs of His creation.’
