Overall meaning : Say, Muhammad, to the idolaters among your people, ‘I am only a warner, warning you of Allah’s punishment if you persist in your unbelief and refuse to accept the truth. There is no deity deserving of worship except Allah, the One and Only God, the Omnipotent and irresistible. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, the Almighty who has all power, the All-Forgiving who forgives those who turn back to Him in repentance.’
Say to them, ‘This Qur’an is momentous news, yet you ignore it and turn away from it. No knowledge would I have had of what passed among the highest assembly of the angels had Allah not revealed it to me, for I am a messenger from Allah, clearly warning you against His punishment.
