Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: Corruption—as manifested by aridity, dearth of vegetation, the loss of blessing and the profusion of evil, among other things—has appeared in both land and sea as a result of people’s unbelief and acts of disobedience as punishment for some of their sins, so that they may repent and turn to Him.
Say to the idolaters among your people, Muhammad: Travel about the land and see the final fate of the unbelievers before you. Most of them associated partners to Allah, and so He destroyed them. Beware, therefore, of suffering the same fate if you follow their example. Set, then, Muhammad, your face and your purpose firmly and exclusively towards the pure and flawless faith before the coming of the Day of Resurrection which no one can possibly avert. On that day, people will be divided into two groups: a group will be in Paradise, and the other in Hell.
Whoever disbelieves in Allah will bear the consequences of his unbelief, whereas those who believe in Allah and do righteous deeds are preparing an eternal home for themselves in Paradise, so that He may give, out of His bounty, those who believe and do righteous deeds a rich reward. Allah does not love those who disbelieve in Him.
