Overall meaning : Allah Almighty explains that obedience to Him must take precedence over all acts of obedience: We have commanded man to honour and show great kindness to his parents. But if they endeavour to make you associate as partner with Me something of which you have no proof of its divinity, do not obey them in this matter. To Me will you all be returned on the Day of Resurrection, and I will inform you of all the good and bad actions you have done. Those who believe and do righteous deeds We will surely admit amongst the righteous.
