Overall meaning : The believer in Pharaoh’s household then said to his people, ‘My people, how is it that I call you to the path of salvation, and you call me to the path leading to the Fire?! You call on me to disbelieve in Allah and to associate with Him partners about whose partnership I have no proof, while I call you to the worship of the All-Mighty, the All-Forgiving! There is no doubt that the false gods to which you call me to worship do not deserve to be worshipped or called upon either in this world nor in the world to come, that our return after our death will be to Allah, and that those who transgress Allah’s limits will be the inhabitants of the Fire. You will then remember the advice I am giving to you now and realise that I have spoken the truth. I entrust all my affairs to Allah. Surely Allah sees all His slaves and nothing about them is hidden from Him.’
So Allah protected him from the evil scheme they had contrived, and a terrible punishment descended upon Pharaoh and his followers. They are exposed to the Fire morning and evening to be tormented with it until the Day of Resurrection, and then on the Day of Judgement Allah will say to the angels, ‘Admit Pharaoh and his people to the severest torment of Hell.’
