Overall meaning : A believing man of Pharaoh’s family who until then had concealed his faith in Allah said, ‘Would you kill Moses merely because he says, “My Lord is Allah,” when he has brought you clear evidence from your Lord?! If he lies in his claim, this will be to his own detriment; if he is telling the truth, some of the punishments with which he has threatened you will surely befall you. Allah does not guide anyone who transgresses His limits and is an utter liar. My people, you enjoy power and authority in the land of Egypt today, but who will save us against Allah’s punishment if it comes upon us?!’
Pharaoh said to his people, in reply to the believing man’s advice, ‘I only propose to you what I consider right, and I am guiding you to none other than the right path!’
