Overall meaning : Allah, Exalted be He, says: Moses and Al-Khadhir disembarked from the boat and, while walking on the shore they came across a little boy, whom Al-Khadhir killed. Moses reproachfully said, ‘How could you take the life of an innocent, sinless person with no cause whatsoever of just retribution for murder?! This is truly an appalling thing that you have done!’ ‘Did I not tell you,’ Al-Khadhir said, reminding Moses of the promises he had given, ‘that you would not bear with me?’ Moses said, ‘If I ever ask you about anything again, then do not let me accompany you any longer, for then I will have given you excuse enough to abandon me.’
