Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: And having thus wronged himself because of his unbelief and his denial of resurrection, he entered his garden, saying, ‘I do not think this garden will ever perish, not do I think that the resurrection will ever take place. Even if there were life after death and I were brought back to my Lord, I would surely find a garden far better the one He has given me in this life which I rightly deserve because of my privileged status and honourable standing in His sight.’ His believing companion said to him in the course of their discussion, ‘Do you disbelieve in Allah, who created your progenitor, Adam, from dust, then created you from a drop of sperm then shaped you into a well-proportioned human being?!’
‘As for myself,’ he continued, ‘I do not say what you have said—which proves your unbelief. Rather, I say that Allah, my Lord, is the only God deserving of worship; and I will worship none besides Him. If only, when you entered your garden, you had said upon admiring it, “Maa shaa Allaah, laa quwwata illaa billaah (Whatever Allah wills will come to pass, for I have no power to do anything except with Allah’s help).” Although you see me with less wealth and children than you, it may well be that, because of my faith, my Lord will give me something better than your garden; and, because of your ungratefulness and unbelief, He will send down upon your garden some punishment from the sky, leaving it slippery and barren, or its irrigation water sinks deep into the ground, so that you will never be able to retrieve it.’
