Overall meaning : Allah, Exalted be He, says: We then brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his troops pursued them in arrogance and aggression, until they were overwhelmed by the waters of the sea. But as he was drowning, Pharaoh cried out, 'Now I believe that there is no god but the God in whom the Israelites believe, and I am of those who declare obedience to Him and surrender themselves to Him.’
'Now that you are dying you believe in Allah,’ Allah said to Him, 'while you disobeyed Him before it descended on you, and you were a rebel and evildoer who turned people away from His path?! Today we deliver your body and your body armour to a raised part of the earth to be seen by those who did not believe you would die and to be a lesson for those who come after you.’ Many people are heedless of Our signs, do not reflect on them and do not learn lessons from them.
