Overall meaning : Allah Almighty addresses His Prophet, Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: Mention to the people, Muhammad, the day when We will gather them all together, humans and jinn and believers and unbelievers alike, for the final judgement, and We will say to the idolaters, 'Keep to your respective places, you and those you claim are Allah’s partners in divinity!’ We will separate them one from another—the objects of worship from their worshippers. Those they worshipped will say to them, 'It was not us that you actually worshipped. Rather, your worshipped your whims and the devils who bade you worship us. Sufficient is Allah as our witness and your witness, for He knows full well that we did not order you to worship us, nor were we even aware of your worship.’
There and then—on the Land of Gathering on the Day of Judgement—will every person know what good and evil deeds they have done, which he will find all recorded and according to which he will be repaid. Those who worship false gods besides Allah will be returned to Allah their True Lord—master, creator, owner and disposer of all their affairs—to judge them justly, and the falsehood they have invented about Allah (their claim that Allah has partners that benefit those they worship besides Him, protect them against harm and bring them closer to Him) will desert them and will be of no avail to them.
