Overall meaning : Allah Almighty addresses the Arabs, saying: Surely a messenger—Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—has come to you from among yourselves. He feels deeply troubled and distressed by any hardship and harm you may suffer, very keen to guide you to the path of truth and give you all that is good, and compassionate and merciful towards the believers.
Then, addressing the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, He says: If they refuse to believe and obey you, say to them, ‘Allah is sufficient for me. There is no one deserving of worship but He. I put my trust in Him alone, and I entrust all my affairs to Him; and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.’
