Overall meaning : Allah Almighty states that the People of the Book seek and endeavour to disprove and confute Allah’s religion—Islam—by uttering false statements with a view to disproving the truth of the Islamic faith and defaming the truth. Nevertheless, Allah will not be pleased with anything other than bringing His religion to perfection and making it clear to people, even though the unbelievers detest it. It is he, He further declares, who has sent His Messenger, Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with true guidance and the true religion—Islam—to make it superior to the rest of religions, though those who associate partners with Allah abhor it.
