Overall meaning : Allah has created the heavens and the earth for a purpose, and not in vain. He wraps the night around the day until its light disappears and wraps the day around the night until its darkness vanishes, and has made the sun and moon subservient, each one running for a specified term known only to Him. Allah, who has created all these and subjected them to His slaves, is surely the All-Mighty who has boundless power, the All-Forgiving who pardons His servants’ sins.
He has created you, people, from a single person—your father Adam—then from him He created his wife, Eve. He has sent down to you four different pairs of grazing livestock: the male and female of camels, cattle, sheep and goats. He creates you in your mothers’ wombs in stages, one after another, in three layers of darkness—that of the mother’s belly, the womb and the membranes enclosing the embryo. The One who does all this is Allah, your Lord, to whom alone belongs all sovereignty. There is no god worthy of worship except Him. How, then, can you turn away from the truth?!
