Overall meaning : Those who level charges of adultery against chaste women who do not even entertain thoughts of committing indecent acts and are true believers will be expelled from Allah’s mercy in this world and in the world to come, and, if they do not repent of such a sin before their death, they will suffer a severe punishment in Hell, on the day when their own tongues, hands and feet will bear witness with regards to the sins they have committed. On that day Allah will pay them their just due in full; and they will realise that Allah is the Manifest Truth, about whose existence there is no doubt, who will make everything clear then.
Vile women, words, actions and traits are suited only to vile men, and vile men are suited only to vile women, words, actions and traits. By contrast, pure women, words, actions and traits are suited only to pure men, and pure men are perfectly suited to pure women. Such pure men and women are innocent of what the slanderers have said about them. They will have forgiveness for their sins and a generous provision in Gardens of eternal bliss.
