Overall meaning : Those who accuse chaste women of adultery and cannot produce four male witnesses known for their probity and integrity to support their accusation, give eighty lashes each, and never afterwards accept their testimony, for they are disobedient evildoers—except those among them who afterwards repent and mend their ways. Allah will certainly forgive their sins and show them mercy, for He is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful.
