Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: We saved Abraham and Lot from their evil people in Iraq and brought them to the Levant, which We have blessed for all people with abundance of good and numerous prophets. We bestowed upon Abraham Isaac, and then Jacob for a grandson, as an additional favour—making all of them righteous and obedient. We also made them role models for people, calling them to worship and obey Me by Our command, and We inspired them to do good deeds along with their people, to be constant in prayer and to pay zakat. They were obedient to Us and worshipped none but Us.
To Lot We gave prophethood, sagacity in judgement between litigants and knowledge of Our commands and religion. We delivered him from his city whose people who were given to committing abominable deeds; surely they were wicked and disobedient. We completed Our favour upon him and admitted him into Our mercy by saving him in this life from the punishment that struck his people and by admitting him into Paradise in the hereafter, for he was of the righteous who showed total obedience to Us.
