Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: Allah knows all that is hidden in the heavens and the earth; He has full knowledge of everyone’s intentions and thoughts.
It is He who has given you the earth, people, to inherit from those before you. Therefore, whoever disbelieves will suffer the consequences of his unbelief. The unbeliever’ unbelief will only increase Allah’s hate for them; their unbelief will earn them nothing but loss in this life and the hereafter.
Say to the idolaters, Muhammad: Have you considered those you associate with Allah and invoke them beside Him? Show me which part of the earth they have created that gives you reason to worship them?! Do they have a share in the ownership and creation of the heavens?! Or have We given them a book confirming such partnership and thus affording them a veritable proof?! Truly, vain and false are the promises the wrongdoers give one another!
It is Allah alone who holds the heavens and the earth in position and keeps them from falling apart. Should they fall apart, none of His creation could hold them back after Him. Allah is All-Clement—He does not hasten people’s punishment; All-Forgiving—He pardons those who repent and turn to Him.
