Overall meaning : Do you think that We have created you in vain and for no purpose, and that you will not be brought back to Us on the Day of Resurrection for reckoning and recompense?! High Exalted is Allah, the True King, above creating anything in vain; and Sublimely Exalted is He above everything that does not befit His greatness, majesty and perfection! There is no god but Him, the Lord of the Glorious Throne.
Whoever worships another god besides Allah—the One True God—has no evidence for doing so at all, and he will be brought to account before his Lord, who will inflict a severe punishment on him. The unbelievers will by no means attain success on the Day of Resurrection.
Say, Muhammad, ‘Lord, forgive and have mercy. You are the best of those who show mercy.’
