Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: It is He who has created the heavens and the earth out of nothing and sends down rain from the clouds with which He brings forth various fruits for your sustenance. He has subjected the ships for your service, sailing through the sea by His command, and has subjected the rivers for you so that you may drink from their water, to irrigate your crops and give drink to your animals, among many other benefits. He has also subjected for you the sun and the moon, both constantly pursuing their courses and running in their respective orbits, to be of service to you, and has subjected the night for you to find peace and rest in it from fatigue, and the day so that you may seek His bounty.
He has given you of everything for which you have asked Him, and if you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would never be able to number them, let alone give thanks for all of them due to their infinite number and enormously wide diversity. Surely man is most persistent in wrongdoing—by worshipping other than Allah, the True Lord and God, and having the audacity to disobey Him—and very ungrateful to Him despite the boundless bounties He has bestowed on him.
