Overall meaning : In these verses, Allah enjoins on the believers, when death approaches any of them and is leaving behind some wealth, to make a will in favour of his parents and relatives without being extravagant or miserly, taking into account the closest and neediest, without prejudice to the heirs. this This command to make a will is a duty binding on those possessed of true piety.
Whoever alters the will after hearing it from the testator, through additions, deletions or otherwise, will bear the burden of sin while the testator will not incur any guilt. Allah Almighty is All-Hearing and All-Knowing, and He will repay each person according to what he deserves.
If, however, someone has reason to fear bias or injustice on the part of the testator, whether he commits such a mistake intentionally or unintentionally, he will incur no sin if he advises the testator and shows him the right course of action, or if he amends the mistake himself in accordance with the law after the testator’s death, thereby redressing the injustices committed and settling any disagreement that may have arisen between the parties concerned—whether between the testator and the legal heirs, or between the heirs and those to whom a bequest has been made in their favour.
