Overall meaning : The unbelievers say, denying resurrection after death, ‘The Hour (Judgement Day) will never come upon us.’ Say to them, Muhammad, ‘Yes, by my Lord, who knows all that is hidden, it will surely come upon you!’ Not an atom’s weight in the heavens or the earth escapes Him; nor is there anything smaller or greater but is recorded in the Preserved Tablet, so that He will reward those who believe and do good deeds; they will be forgiven and will receive an honourable and generous provision.
But those who strive to discredit and confute Our revelations, thinking that We are not able to resurrect and punish them, will suffer a severely painful punishment. Those who have been endowed with knowledge can see that the Qur’an that your Lord has revealed to you, Muhammad, is the truth, and that it guides to the path of the All-Mighty and the Praiseworthy, who holds sway over all His creation and is ever praised by them.
