Overall meaning : You need not move your tongue and lips in haste, Muhammad, in repeating the revelations brought to you by Gabriel, before he finishes reciting them to you, in an attempt to quickly memorise them! It is for Us to gather this Qur’an in your heart by having you memorise it, and to enable you to recite it after that. Therefore, if Gabriel recites the Qur’an to you, listen attentively to his recitation until he is finished, then recite it as he has recited it to you. Then afterwards it is for Us to make its meaning clear to you.
