Overall meaning : This Messenger—Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)—is a warner to mankind, just like the messengers before him who were sent to their peoples. The approaching Judgement Day has drawn near. None can reveal it at the appointed time and remove its horrors and terrors but Allah. Do you, then, find this Qur’an strange, idolaters, mockingly laughing at it instead of weeping out of fear of the warnings it contains, while persisting in your heedlessness?! Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah, and worship Him!
