Overall meaning : Say, Muhammad, to all the unbelievers, declaring yourself clear of their religion and worship, ‘You who disbelieve in Allah, I do not worship at present what you worship, nor do you worship Allah whom I worship—as long as you stubbornly persist in your misguidance. I will never worship the false gods that you, unbelievers, worship, nor will you ever worship Allah whom I worship—as long as you stubbornly persist in your misguidance. You have your religion of which I have declared myself clear, and I have my own religion—Islam—which affirms Allah’s oneness.’
