Section VI: What is not Required when Walking Between Safa and Marwah

Firstly: Intention
It is not a condition that one intend walking between Safa and Marwah. This is the position of the majority: the Hanafis, Shafi`is, and Hanbalis.

Secondly: Being free of major and minor ritual impurity
It is not a condition that one be free of major and minor ritual impurity when walking between Safa and Marwa. This is by agreement of the four schools of jurisprudence. It is also the position of the majority of scholars.

Thirdly: Clothing one’s nakedness
It is not a condition that one’s nakedness be covered when walking between Safa and Marwah. This is by agreement of the four schools of jurisprudence.
